Brand New // Part 1

(II Corinthians 5:17 TPT) Now, if anyone is enfolded into Christ, he has become an entirely new creation. All that is related to the old order has vanished. Behold, everything is fresh and new.

The Bad News

(Genesis 3:6-9) When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings for themselves. Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden. But the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

(Romans 5:12) Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—

Sin is not a behavior issue,  it is a heart issue.

(Jeremiah 17:9) The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?

(Mark 12:30) Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’

The Good News

He initiates.

(John 6:44, 65) “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day. He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”

(Romans 5:8) But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

He illuminates.

(I Corinthians 2:14 TPT) Someone living on an entirely human level rejects the revelations of God’s Spirit, for they make no sense to him. He can’t understand the revelations of the Spirit because they are only discovered by the illumination of the Spirit.

(Ephesians 2:1) As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,

He implements.

(Ezekiel 36:26-27 CSB) I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will remove your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. I will place my Spirit within you and cause you to follow my statutes and carefully observe my ordinances.

(Titus 3:5 CSB) he saved us—not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to his mercy—through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.
