Living on Mission

Living on Mission

The goal of this message was to re-iterate why we at Celebration Church, and the church worldwide exist today.

Our mission statement:

Celebration Church exists to reach people with the life-giving message of Jesus Christ that they might experience a life of purpose and fulfillment that God always intended for them. We carry out this mission in 3 main ways:  Loving unconditionally, Servicing Sacrificially, and Reaching Who-so-ever.

The Great Commission

(Matthew 28:18-20) Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Jesus gave a final command (not suggestion) to his disciples in Matthew 28. This charge was to go out and make disciples for His glory.

If we too are his followers, then we must understand that we are to "live on mission" daily. This divine order is non-negotiable and the goal of it is to bring God worship!

Mission Impossible

(Acts 1:8) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

This mission would not be possible without the supernatural agent of the Holy Spirit. Jesus not only commanded us to go and make disciples in our local cities, states, nations, and world, but he also gave us all the power (Holy Spirit) necessary to accomplish this enormous task.

I like to say is this way... "The Holy Spirit is the difference between the best we can do in our own power, and the best God can do in His."

It is paramount that we not only relate to God the Father, and God the Son, but also the Holy Spirit. See the scripture below:

(II Corinthians 13:14 MSG) The amazing grace of the Master, Jesus Christ, the extravagant love of God, the intimate friendship of the Holy Spirit, be with all of you. We as believers must be intentional in cultivating an intimate relationship with the triune God daily!

Finally, as you can see not only does this mission require supernatural power, but it is others focused, and is not optional. If we are true believers in Christ, then we must daily live on purpose for God's glory!
