The Sufficiency of Christ
(Col. 2:6-15)
The Command: Walk in Christ (2:6-7)
1. We are called to walk in Christ, rooted in Him, built up in Him and strengthened in Him. (verse 6-7)
2.Believers are called to participate in the Christian life; not to be consumers but contributors to the kingdom.(verse 6-7)
Let no one take you captive(2:8)
3. Beware of empty, deceitful teaching based on human tradition that's opposite to the teaching of Christ.
4. Any teaching or belief that distracts us from faith in Christ or takes away from the sufficiency of His work is both deceptive and dangerous.
The reason: Christ is Sufficient (2:9-15)
5. We need not seek, we cannot find perfection anywhere else, Christ is sufficient!(verse 9)
6. If we are filled in Christ, who is the fullness of God, we want for nothing! (verse 9-10)
7. We are not only filled with Christ, but we are made alive in Him! (verse 11-13)
8. In Christ we are forgiven of our trespasses and sins!(verse 13-14)
9. The powers of darkness are no threat and have no claim to those who are in Christ! (verse 15)
