(Ephesians 2:6 – 10) He also raised us up with Him and seated us with Him in the heavens in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages He might display the immeasurable riches of His grace through His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For you are saved by grace through faith, and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift – not

from works, so that one can boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.

God’s Work of Art

1. Salvation is a gift from God.

(Ephesians 2:8 – 9) For you are saved by grace, through faith and this is not from yourselves; it is God’s gift – not from works, so that no one can boast.

(Romans 6:23) For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(Titus 3:5) He saved us – not by works of righteousness that we had done, but according to His mercy – through the washing of regeneration and renewal by the Holy Spirit.

(2 Timothy 1:9) He has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before time began.

2. We are saved FOR good works not BY good works.

(Ephesians 2:10) For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared ahead of time for us to do.

(James 2:14 – 20) What good is it, my brothers and sisters, if someone claims to have faith but does not have works? Can such faith save him? If a brother or sister is without clothes and lacks daily food and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, stay warm, and be well fed,” but you don’t give them what the body needs, what good is

it? In the same way faith, if it doesn’t have works, is dead by itself. But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without works, and I will show you faith by my works. You believe that God is one. Good! Even the demons believe – and they shudder. Senseless person! Are you willing to learn that faith without works is useless?

3. It is through the good works we do in Christ Jesus that we reveal

His masterpiece within us.
