Ephesians 4:1-6 ESV

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in

a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been

called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience,

bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the

unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body

and one Spirit--just as you were called to the one hope that

belongs to your call--one Lord, one faith, one baptism,

one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all

and in all.

1) Without the gospel truth as the foundation why

we live our life the way the scriptures command,

we are merely moralists and hypocrites.

2) We are to walk worthy of our calling and to do

so specifically in love and as children of light.

3) The act of calling is God raising spiritually dead

people to life and faith through the

preaching (hearing/reading) of the gospel.

4) Walking worthy is walking in humility,

gentleness, patience, love and eagerness to

maintain unity.
