Why Would God Allow You To Experience More Than You Can Handle?
Did God Really Say...He Would Give You More Than You Could Handle?
(1Corinthians 10:13 NIV) He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.
Does God give you more than you can handle?
- Judges ch. 7 Gideon and the 300
- Mark 14:33-34
- Jonah 2:2,7
1. God gives us more than we can handle so we will
learn to depend on his presence.
- In my distress I called on the Lord, not in my success
- God said I will never leave you or forsake you (Deut.31:6-8)
- God said cast all your anxieties on Him because He cares for you. (1 Peter 5:7)
- God said He is near to all who call on Him (Psalm 145:18)
God gives us more than we can handle so that we will be forced to depend wholly on Him.
Why would God allow you to experience more than you can handle?
2) God allows us to experience more than we can handle so we can experience His supernatural power.
- So many of you are trying to hold on in the storm by your own strength.
- You were not created to have the power to do it yourself.
- You were created to need God and be desperate for Him.
(2 Corinthians 12:9-10) But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, formy power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the moregladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. Thatis why for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, inpersecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
3) God gives us more than we can handle so we can experience His peace.
(Isaiah 43:1-3) When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; andwhen you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. Whenyou walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not setyou ablaze.
(John 16:33) so that in me you may have peace...(John 14:27) My peace I give to you, let your hearts not be troubled
