Transformational Thanksgiving | Part 2
Transformational Thanksgiving | Part 2
(Romans 12:1-2) 1 I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. 2 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
Transformation - a thorough or dramatic change in form or appearance.
Thanksgiving - the expression of gratitude especially to God.
Gratitude is thankfulness and appreciation. Comes from the latin word “gratus” which means thankful, pleasing. When we have a heart of gratitude, we are pleased by what someone has done for us as well as the results.
Transformational Thanksgiving is a deep heart of thankfulness because of the careful, strategic, evident change that has taken place in our lives.
Romans 12:1 - 2
If we are unwilling to let the Lord transform us, we are settling for spiritual stagnation.
James 1:2
How can we know this life of transformation? In this case, it’s repentance (turning to God).
Acts 3:17-21
Here Peter promises three things concerning repentance. In Acts 3:20
If we repent (turn to God) we can receive and know:
1. Forgiveness of sins
2. Times of refreshing
3. Christ is coming again.
What we can know about transformation:
Our soul needs to be transformed.
Our mind needs to be transformed
Our perspective needs to be transformed.
Our response needs to be transformed
